Better Earth Solar

I want to give 0 star if I can. This is what they said install is completed. (Photo attached) I signed contract with Better Earth in February 2023, installation is scheduled on March. The first time the operation team here didn’t have proper tools to install and scheduled for another day. They finished the installation with a missing panel, I have called them multiple times and told them the installation is not completed. The operation manager insists the team finished it and they have the photo in their system. I sent the photo to him and he thought I am lying. I ask him to do a video call so I can show him in the real time if he doesn’t believe me, but he refused to do so. I have to call better Earth everyday to ask them to finish it. In the meantime I am keeping receive invoice from them to pay them. Until August/September time, they finally finished install the last panel. After that I don’t get any update. I called them again this year(2024) and I was told they are waiting for permission for the electric panel upgrade. During the site survey in April 2023, I was told no electric panel upgrade needed. If the electrical panel need to be upgraded, why don’t you just do it at the first palace? The next day after I call them, I got message for electric panel upgrade appointment. It is so funny, they got the permission right after I call them? I am asking for the electric bill reimbursement because the delay of installation. I was told they only do three month after the second payment. (The second payment is after the installation is finished. How can I pay if the installation is not completed?). It is been almost one year and my project is still not finished.

I had an incredible experience with Better Earth! Living in Florida, my contacts, Ryan and Marshall, were absolutely amazing. They patiently answered all my questions and were always available for me. From start to finish, my experience with this company exceeded my expectations. The installation team was top-notch, and the customer service representatives on the phone were both attentive and proficient. I’m thrilled to share that I received approval from the city inspection, and I can’t wait to start seeing the savings on my first bill with them. If you’re thinking about going solar, look no further. Better Earth is the company to choose. They have my highest recommendation!

We were skeptical about solar prior to our experience with Better Earth. We didn’t want to take on a loan, and of course, we wanted complete transparency. I have to admit (with a smile), Ryan and Marshall surpassed our expectations. They’ve answered our questions with confidence and experience. They outlined expectations clearly up front, and have proactively contacted us each step of the way. We definitely entered the solar market with the right people. Thank you Ryan and Marshall!!

As a certified Solaredge installer I can say with confidence that you should avoid Better Earth at all cost. I'm currently helping a customer that had them install 10kw of solar with 2 batteries for $80k!!! and the entire system hasn't worked from day 1...and that was TWO YEARS AGO! I recently was contacted by this customer to come check out his system, since Better Earth said his warranty was VOID after getting on his roof... to repair a leak! He never touched the solar, but they wanted a way out. After arriving on site I quickly discovered that the inverter was faulty and after contacting Solaredge was able to get a replacement sent out. However, while looking through the settings of the old inverter I found multiple issues with how it was commissioned, the big one being they never set up the batteries! After replacing the inverter, his solar was producing as it should, but the batteries were not. I removed the battery covers to find that they NEVER EVEN CONNECTED THEM! They installed them on the wall and turned them on, but never finished connecting them, which caused them to die completely and are not serviceable. Another huge red flag was how their installers dealt with cable management. Instead of using UL listed wire clips, they used 50+ "caution solar circuit" stickers to try and keep them stuck to the bottom of the panel and off the roof. This was barely enough to pass city inspection, but obviously not a long term solution, nor is it the correct way to tie up cables. There were multiple other installation issues as well... Better Earth has been completely unwilling to fix their issues and basically stole this customers $80,000. They are a disgrace as a company and I would not recommend them to anyone. EDIT: To the response that the voiding of the warranty came before the job was finished is FALSE. The job was "complete" and final inspection was performed. City inspectors do not care whether the system is operational or not, only if it appears to be hooked to correctly... Which this was not unfortunately. Regardless of whether or not you guys were done or not, the use of stickers and zip ties to hold up PV cables is completely unacceptable and should not be your standard practice. Also, the batteries should have never been turned on until the inverter settings were configured properly or AT LEAST connected. There is absolutely no way to justify the condition the system was left regardless of what stage of the install you claim to have been in. Also, the only reason you have positive reviews is that 99% of people you install for aren't solar professionals and don't know any better and wouldn't have the first clue whether or not something was done to code or not, so that argument is moot.

Don't do it! I read the bad reviews about better earth before I signed the dotted line, but my salesman contact Zach Hathaway assured me he would make sure none of those complaints happened to me. Lies! He said whatever he could to get my money. As soon as better earth screwed up my install, he said there was nothing he could do to help me. My panels were installed in April. Immediately they looked horrendous from a curb appeal standpoint. They tilted the panels instead of laying them flat. And the backs of the panels are facing the front towards the street! Right on the front of the house! They NEVER told me they would be tilted. Not to mention, this is Florida and I live 2 miles from the beach, so when we get a hurricane, how are TILTED panels supposed to sustain hurricane winds??? Of course I called better earth to have them fix this. That was 6 months ago. They just got back with me today! They want ME to pay $10,000 to remove the tilts to make them flush to the roof. They want me to pay for THEIR mistake!
